Kassiopi is built round a horseshoe harbour with the ruins of a Byzantine fortress on the headland above it, and it is compact enough that a driver who knows the harbour can find most addresses from it. That is not true of the ribbon villages along the north coast, where the same 99 euros buys a drop somewhere along two kilometres of road and the address does the work.
