About TransferSelect
TransferSelect is an independent guide to getting from an airport to where you are actually staying. We compare the taxi, the coach and the pre-booked transfer on the same route, using figures taken from named sources and dated, so you can see where each number came from before you rely on it.
What this site is not
It is not a transfer operator. We do not own vehicles, employ drivers or run a fleet, and nothing on this site is a service we could deliver.
It is not a booking engine. No booking is taken here and no payment is made here. Where an option can be booked in advance, we link to the provider that actually sells it and the transaction is entirely theirs.
It is not a review site. We have not ridden these transfers and we do not pretend to have. Where this site has an opinion it is derived from figures it can show you, not from an experience it would have to invent. That rule is written down on the editorial policy page and it is the one we would least like to break.
What it does instead
A route page answers one question: from this airport, to this place, what are the ways of covering the distance and what does each cost. That means the road distance measured rather than estimated, the regulated taxi tariff the fare is actually derived from, whatever the coach operator publishes, and the private transfer if one can be booked. Options that cannot be verified are named as unverified rather than filled in.
Today the site covers 86 routes from 23 airports, built on 66 source records. That is a small number and we would rather say it than imply a coverage map we do not have. It grows one verified route at a time, because the verification is the expensive part and it is also the only part that makes the page worth reading.
Where the numbers come from
Every figure on a route page carries its own provenance: which source it came from, when it was checked, how confident we are in it, and how long it stays trustworthy before it should be checked again. That is stored per figure rather than per page, so one recent edit cannot make an old distance look freshly verified.
The build enforces it. A price with no stated type and basis, a figure that disagrees with the research it was taken from, a page whose sitemap entry contradicts its own robots tag: each of those fails the build rather than reaching the site. How this is paid for
Some links to transfer providers are affiliate links, and if you book after following one we may earn a commission from that provider. You pay their normal price; we do not add anything to it. One provider has an active affiliate relationship with us today, and the specific reasons commission cannot decide what we recommend are set out on how we make money and in the affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
If a figure here is wrong, we would rather know. Fares change, timetables change and roads are rerouted, and a page that was right in August can be wrong by March. Tell us through contact, and the editorial policy sets out what we do with a correction once it arrives.
