Which airport, and what the journey costs

Airports for Palma

Palma has its own airport 11 km away, fifteen to twenty minutes on the Ma-19. It is the shortest route on this site and the only one where the taxi is cheap enough that the coach is not obviously the answer.

Every figure here is the same one the route guide shows, read from the same record. Prices say what kind of price they are, and a coach fare charged per person is not comparable with a vehicle price without doing the arithmetic for your own group.

The one route where the minimum fare bites

Over 11.30 kilometres the weekday meter runs to 16.06 EUR, below Palma's 16.95 EUR minimum for journeys from the airport, so the minimum is what is charged. The fare stops falling with the distance. This is the only route on the site short enough for that to happen, and it is why a taxi into the city costs almost the same on a Tuesday morning as on a Sunday night.

A city bus, not an island coach

Line A1 is run by EMT, Palma's own bus company, rather than by the island network, and it is priced as a city fare: 5.00 EUR for the airport single against 2.00 for an ordinary urban journey. The operator states that A1 and A2 carry airport journeys only, with no intermediate stops allowed, so it is not a way of getting anywhere else on the island.

What the journey costs

5.00 EUR a head on the coach, 21 to 23 EUR for a whole taxi. At four passengers those are the same money and the taxi is door to door. The private transfers sold for this route run 188 to 238 EUR, nine to eleven times the metered fare over the same eleven kilometres, which is worth knowing before you book one.
