East of the airport, which changes two things
The toll motorway on this coast runs west, towards Marbella and Estepona. Going east to Nerja the A-7 is free, so the quickest road costs nothing beyond the meter, which is not true of the western half of the same cluster. The other difference is distance: at 69 km Nerja is further from its airport than any resort on the western side except Estepona.
Granada is closer here than anywhere else, and still not the answer
Granada is about 104 km from Nerja, and our two routing engines agreed on that to within a hundred metres, which they rarely do over a hundred kilometres. That is nearer than Granada is to anywhere else on this coast. It is still half as far again as Malaga and roughly an hour and a quarter of driving, into an airport with far fewer flights. Worth pricing if a fare is dramatically lower; not otherwise. We do not cover transfers from it.
The old core is not the same address as the town
Our two engines agree to within 780 metres on the drive to Nerja and differ by five kilometres on the approach to the Balcon de Europa, the promenade at the old core, where the streets narrow. That is the town's shape showing up in the measurement rather than a routing error, and it is most of why the regulated taxi range on the route page is as wide as it is.
