Santa Ponsa is 28 km west of Palma airport, twenty-five to thirty minutes. The airport is east of the city and Santa Ponsa is west of it, so the journey crosses or skirts Palma rather than avoiding it, which is why the two routing engines disagree about the distance while agreeing almost exactly about the time. The regulated taxi comes to 39 to 48 EUR for the vehicle.

Which transfer should you choose?

The interesting number here is not the fare but the pair of them. One engine takes the motorway ring and measures 29.6 km in 25.2 minutes; the other goes through the city and measures 27.2 km in 26.8. Two and a half kilometres apart in distance and under two minutes apart in time, which is what a ring road against a city crossing looks like on a map. Since the meter charges by the kilometre and not by the minute, the road the driver picks moves the fare by about three euros.

Taxi

The fare is for the vehicle. Thirty-nine euros split four ways is under ten each for a door-to-door journey, and a fifth or sixth passenger adds three euros rather than another fare.

Palma's second band covers all day Saturday and Sunday, not just nights, which is a wider window than most tariffs on this site. On this distance it costs about nine euros more.

The A11 calls at Santa Ponca and boards at the arrivals level, so there is no change to make. Check the fare on the operator's zone calculator and the times on the line's own timetable.

A private transfer is arranged in advance and the driver meets you in arrivals. Over twenty-eight kilometres with a regulated fare already capped at under fifty euros, it earns its keep on luggage, on a party of five or more, and on a late landing rather than on price. We do not show a bookable transfer for this route. Every product the search returned was rejected, and the reason is the same across Mallorca: the suppliers here meet travellers at a start point rather than carrying a pickup location the provider itself marks as an airport, and that start point is an opaque reference we cannot resolve to a place with the access we have. This is not a route without transfers; it is a route where we cannot yet show that a transfer starts where it says it does.

The rank is at Terminal floor 0, arrivals, and the airport operator says plainly to use the signed rank rather than anyone offering a service elsewhere. The Ajuntament de Palma sets two bands: laborable, Monday to Friday 07:00 to 21:00, at 2.50 EUR plus 1.20 EUR a kilometre, and festivo or nocturno, covering weekday nights and the whole of Saturdays, Sundays and official holidays, at 2.85 plus 1.35. A 4.65 EUR airport supplement is added, and a 16.95 EUR minimum applies from the airport but is far below the fare over this distance. Parties of five or six pay a further 3.00 EUR and of seven or eight 6.00.

Line A11 runs from this airport up the Calvia coast to Peguera, and the island transport authority's own list of its calls puts Santa Ponca on it, between Galatzo and Magaluf. There is a direct coach. Until 10 September 2026 this page said that route 'may well' pass the town and that may well is not a timetable, which was honest about our reading of the airport's page and wrong about the world: the operator publishes the calls, and we had not read them. Two figures remain out of reach. The A11 is priced by zone hops rather than by route, so no single fare exists to print, and the departure times sit in a scanned seasonal timetable. The operator's own pages carry both and are linked below.

Going back: Santa Ponsa to Palma Airport

  • The road

28 km, 25–30 min. Measured on the road, so unchanged either way.

  • The taxi

Same Ajuntament de Palma rates per kilometre. What we cannot carry over is the €4.65 airport supplement, which our figure records for a journey that starts at the terminal; nothing we hold says how it is treated on one that ends there. Without it: €35 by day, €43 at night and on Sundays. A floor, not an answer.

  • Where the coach leaves from

TIB (Aerotib) sets down at Santa Ponca. That is where you board going back.

Departure times from Santa Ponsa are not verified. The times on this page are departures from the airport, and reading them backwards would invent a timetable.

How we worked out the taxi fare

What the regulated fare is made of

A taxi from this airport does not run on a meter. The fare follows a schedule published by the Ajuntament de Palma, so it can be worked out in advance rather than quoted. These are the maximums that schedule allows over the measured distance, not a price anyone has offered you.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Santa Ponsa from Palma Airport?

About 28 km. Two routing engines returned 29.64 and 27.19 kilometres because they choose different ways past Palma: one takes the motorway ring, the other goes through the city. Neither is a toll road, because Mallorca has none.

How much is a taxi from Palma Airport to Santa Ponsa?

About 39 to 48 EUR for the vehicle, not per person, including the 4.65 EUR airport supplement. The upper figure applies at night, at weekends and on official holidays. Parties of five or more pay a further 3.00 or 6.00 EUR.

Why do the two distances differ?

Because the airport is east of Palma and Santa Ponsa is west of it, so the journey has to get past the city. The ring road is longer and slightly quicker; the route through the city is shorter and slightly slower. The meter charges by distance, so the road chosen moves the fare by around three euros.

Is there a bus from Palma Airport to Santa Ponsa?

Coaches run from the airport to the south-western coast, but the airport operator's page names four Aerotib routes and none of them is named for Santa Ponsa. We do not print a stop or a fare we have not read in a source.

How do I get from Santa Ponsa back to Palma Airport?

The same roads and the same distance. The per-kilometre rate is identical either way; what we cannot say is whether the 4.65 EUR supplement, listed by the city for airports and ports, applies to a journey ending at the terminal as well as one starting there.
