Palma Nova is 24 km from Palma airport, twenty to twenty-five minutes on the motorway round the city. The regulated taxi works out at 34 to 42 EUR for the vehicle, and the A11 airport coach stops here on its way to Peguera, which is worth knowing because most of this coast is not on an airport line at all.

Which transfer should you choose?

The airport is east of Palma and this resort is west of it, so every route has to get past the city. Our two engines take the two ways of doing that and land 2.45 km apart: 25.46 km round the motorway ring, 23.01 km through the city. The meter charges by the kilometre and not by the minute, so which one the driver takes moves the fare by about three euros, while the arrival time barely moves at all.

There are four or more of you

Taxi

The fare is for the vehicle. Thirty-four euros split four ways is under nine each, door to door, and beats four separate coach fares whatever the zone works out at.

Bus

The A11 stops here and runs from the arrivals level, so there is no change to make. Check the fare on the operator's zone calculator and the times on the line's own timetable before you rely on it.

Taxi

Palma's second band covers all day Saturday and Sunday, not only nights, which is wider than most tariffs on this site. On this distance it costs about eight euros more.

A private transfer is arranged in advance and the driver meets you in arrivals. Over twenty-four kilometres with a regulated fare capped in the low forties, it earns its keep on luggage, on a party of five or more and on a late landing, not on price. We do not show a bookable transfer for this route. The search returned no product at all whose title is this airport to this destination, and the ones that came closest go somewhere else on the island. Nothing is hidden here: there is no inventory that meets the standard this site applies, so the page says so rather than offering you the nearest thing.

The rank is at Terminal floor 0, arrivals, and the airport operator says plainly to use the signed rank rather than anyone offering a service elsewhere. The meter clears Palma's 16.95 EUR airport minimum inside the first fifteen kilometres, so on this route you pay the distance and not the floor. What the board below will not tell you is that the fare depends on which way the driver gets past the city: the ring road is 25.46 km and the road through Palma 23.01, and at 1.20 EUR a kilometre that is about three euros between them. Neither way is a toll road; Mallorca has none.

How the fare is set
Regulated fares set by the Ajuntament de Palma. Two bands: laborable, Monday to Friday 07:00 to 21:00, at 2.50 EUR flag drop plus 1.20 EUR per kilometre; and festivo or nocturno, covering weekday nights from 21:00 to 07:00 and the whole of Saturdays, Sundays and official holidays, at 2.85 EUR plus 1.35 EUR. A 4.65 EUR airport and port supplement is charged, and a minimum fare of 16.95 EUR applies to journeys from the airport. Parties of five or six pay a further 3.00 EUR and parties of seven or eight 6.00 EUR, neither of which is included below. A 4.75 EUR supplement applies over Christmas and New Year.

Line A11 runs between this airport and Peguera, and the island transport authority's list of its calls puts Palmanova on it. Coming from the airport it is the first of the Calvia resorts the coach reaches, one stop ahead of Magaluf. That settles what the airport's own page leaves open, because Aena lists the lines by their end points and not by what they pass. Two things we still cannot print: the fare, because TIB charges intercity journeys by zone hops rather than a per-route price, and the times, because the timetable is a raster PDF this site could not read. Both are on the operator's pages, linked below.

Going back: Palma Nova to Palma Airport

  • The road

24 km, 20–25 min. Measured on the road, so unchanged either way.

  • The taxi

Same Ajuntament de Palma rates per kilometre. What we cannot carry over is the €4.65 airport supplement, which our figure records for a journey that starts at the terminal; nothing we hold says how it is treated on one that ends there. Without it: €30 by day, €38 at night and on Sundays. A floor, not an answer.

  • Where the coach leaves from

TIB (Aerotib) sets down at Palmanova. That is where you board going back.

Departure times from Palma Nova are not verified. The times on this page are departures from the airport, and reading them backwards would invent a timetable.

How we worked out the taxi fare

What the regulated fare is made of

A taxi from this airport does not run on a meter. The fare follows a schedule published by the Ajuntament de Palma, so it can be worked out in advance rather than quoted. These are the maximums that schedule allows over the measured distance, not a price anyone has offered you.
