Benalmadena is in two pieces at very different heights and that decides more than anything else here. The Costa, on the seafront, is 12 km from the airport and has the railway station. The pueblo, the old village up the hill, is 20 km and the train does not reach it. A train ticket to a station eighteen minutes away is hard to argue with if you are staying near the front; if you are staying up the hill, you are looking at a car whichever way you come.

The airport operator publishes the journey to Benalmadena at approximately eighteen minutes and we have taken that figure as published rather than turning it into a range we invented. The station serves Benalmadena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel; it does not reach the pueblo. What we cannot tell you is the fare: Aena links to a rates page instead of publishing a figure, so we say nothing about the price.
