Moraira is 94 km from Alicante-Elche airport, about 70 minutes of free-flowing driving, mostly motorway before the descent to the coast on local roads. The thing to know before you plan is that there is no coach: Aena's list of airport bus connections has no Moraira service, and the nearest stop it does name is Teulada, 6.5 km inland. That leaves the road, and on the road a taxi is regulated rather than negotiated, with the official ceiling for this distance between 131 and 153 EUR for the vehicle.

Which transfer should you choose?

Moraira is the one destination on this site with no public transport answer at all, and that is the first thing to plan around rather than the last. Aena lists no airport coach to Moraira, and the Teulada stop that looks like one on a map is 6.5 km inland, so arriving without a car means a road transfer. That leaves two ways to do it. The taxi rank needs no booking and its fare is regulated, so it is predictable at 131 to 153 EUR for the vehicle depending on the hour and the day. A private transfer is booked in advance and quoted for the journey, which at 94 km may well come in under that ceiling; the one sold for this route is linked above, and what we can and cannot vouch for about it is set out in its section.

You want the simplest way out of the airport

Taxi

With no coach to compare against, the rank is the option that needs no arrangement at all. Fares follow the official regulated tariff rather than a meter, so the range above is what a driver may charge rather than what you might be quoted.

Private transfer

94 km with cases is a road journey whichever way you do it, and a transfer is booked before you fly, met in arrivals and quoted for the whole journey rather than by the kilometre.

Not verified: The supplier does not name Moraira in its drop-off details, only in the product title, and it carries no reviews yet. Read what it covers before you book.

There is no coach to miss, so a late arrival changes only the price. The night, Sunday and holiday tariff begins at 21:00 and takes this journey towards the top of the range.

With no coach on this route, a booked transfer and the taxi rank are the two realistic ways to reach Moraira, and at 94 km a transfer quoted for the whole journey can undercut the regulated taxi ceiling rather than exceed it. There is one sold for this route and it is linked above. It collects at this airport, which Viator records directly, but its drop-off is described only as hotels and addresses in the town centre rather than naming Moraira, so the destination comes from the product title, and it carries no reviews yet. The taxi figures above are the benchmark to judge its price against.

The rank is on the arrivals roadway and needs no booking. Fares follow the Generalitat's official interurban tariff rather than a meter, with a fixed 4.25 EUR airport supplement on top, and the published rates are maximums rather than quotes. Over 94 km that comes to about 131 EUR on the ordinary daytime tariff and up to 153 EUR on the night, Sunday and holiday rate, which begins at 21:00. Moraira is part of the municipality of Teulada, well inside the Comunitat Valenciana, so the same schedule applies here as on every other route on this site.

Official regulated tariff rather than a meter-free negotiated price. Moraira is outside Elche, so the Generalitat's interurban schedule applies: 1.65 EUR pick-up plus 1.34 EUR per km on the ordinary tariff, and 2.25 EUR plus 1.55 EUR per km on the special tariff, which covers 21:00 to 07:00 on working days including Saturday, and all day on Sundays and holidays. The airport supplement is added on top. Published amounts are maximums.

No

This is the honest answer rather than a gap in our research. Aena publishes the coach connections that call at the airport, and none of them serves Moraira. The closest is the ALSA line to Javea, which stops at Benissa, Teulada and Benitachell on the way. Teulada is the town Moraira belongs to administratively, which makes that stop look closer than it is: the town sits inland and both routing engines put it 6.5 km from the village, a leg you would then have to arrange yourself on arrival. We have not verified that line's fare or timetable either, because ALSA's booking engine is behind a queue system we cannot read. Treat Moraira as a road transfer destination and budget accordingly.

Going back: Moraira to Alicante Airport

  • The road

94 km, 65–75 min. Measured on the road, so unchanged either way.

  • The taxi

Same Generalitat Valenciana rates per kilometre. What we cannot carry over is the €4.25 airport supplement, which our figure records for a journey that starts at the terminal; nothing we hold says how it is treated on one that ends there. Without it: €127 by day, €149 at night and on Sundays. A floor, not an answer.

  • Still no coach

No usable connection either way. The return is the same choice as the outward journey: the regulated tariff, or a transfer booked ahead.

ALSA does stop at Teulada, 6.5 km from Moraira, which is why it turns up on timetable searches. It is a separate journey from Moraira at either end, not a way of making this one.

How we worked out the taxi fare

What the regulated fare is made of

A taxi from this airport does not run on a meter. The fare follows a schedule published by the Generalitat Valenciana, so it can be worked out in advance rather than quoted. These are the maximums that schedule allows over the measured distance, not a price anyone has offered you.

Why there is no coach, and why Teulada is not one

Aena publishes the coach services that call at Alicante-Elche, and none of them serves Moraira. The list does include an ALSA line to Javea that stops at Teulada, and because Moraira is administratively part of Teulada that stop can look like the answer. It is not. Teulada town sits inland and both routing engines put it 6.5 km from the village, which is a separate journey to arrange after a flight, with luggage, at whatever hour you land. Moraira is a small coastal village of a few thousand people rather than a resort town with a bus station, and its transport reflects that.

94 km, and the last part is not motorway

The road from the airport runs on the A-70 and the AP-7 for most of the distance, then the N-332, before turning off onto the CV-740, CV-743 and CV-7440 for the descent to the coast. Those last kilometres are local road through the hills behind the Marina Alta, which is why the free-flowing time of about 70 minutes is longer than the distance alone suggests, and why it is more sensitive to a wet evening or a caravan in front than the motorway stretch is.

What a transfer should cost

A taxi from the rank is not negotiated: Moraira falls under the Generalitat's interurban tariff like everywhere else on this site, so the fare is capped between about 131 and 153 EUR for the vehicle, the higher figure applying at night, on Sundays and on holidays. That is the number to judge everything else against. A private transfer booked in advance can undercut it at this distance, since it is quoted for the journey rather than by the kilometre. One is sold for this route and this page links it.

Other airports that can reach Moraira

These are further away and TransferSelect does not cover transfers from them. They are listed so the choice of airport can be judged against something rather than taken on trust.

  • Valencia Airport (VLC)About 130 km by road

About 36 km further than Alicante, and roughly half an hour more driving. Worth pricing if a flight into it is much cheaper, but Alicante is clearly the nearer airport. TransferSelect does not cover transfers from it.

  • Region de Murcia International Airport (RMU)About 185 km by road

Around 185 km, and on the far side of Alicante rather than towards Moraira. Not a practical arrival airport.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a bus from Alicante Airport to Moraira?

No. Aena's list of coach connections at the airport contains no Moraira service. The nearest stop on that network is Teulada, on the ALSA line to Javea, and Teulada town is 6.5 km inland from Moraira, so you would still need to cover that last leg.

How far is Moraira from Alicante Airport?

About 94 km by road. Two independent routing engines agree to within 100 metres. The route runs on the N-338, the A-70 and the AP-7, then the N-332, before dropping to the coast on the CV-740, CV-743 and CV-7440.

How long is the transfer from Alicante Airport to Moraira?

About 65 to 75 minutes in free-flowing traffic; the two engines returned 68 and 71 minutes. That excludes traffic, and the final stretch off the N-332 is local road rather than motorway.

How much is a taxi from Alicante Airport to Moraira?

Between about 131 and 153 EUR for the vehicle, not per person. The lower figure is the ordinary daytime tariff and the higher one the night, Sunday and holiday tariff, and both include the 4.25 EUR airport supplement. These are the regulated maximums for the distance rather than a quote.

Which airport is nearest to Moraira?

Alicante-Elche, at 94 km. Valencia is about 130 km, which is roughly half an hour more driving and worth pricing only if the flight is much cheaper. Region de Murcia, at about 185 km, is not practical.

Which airport should I fly into for Moraira?

Alicante-Elche, at 94 km and about 70 minutes by road. Valencia is about 130 km, roughly half an hour further, and worth considering only if the flight is much cheaper.

Is there public transport from the airport to Moraira?

No airport coach serves Moraira. Aena's list names a stop at Teulada on the ALSA line to Javea, but Teulada town is 6.5 km inland from the village, so it does not save you the road transfer.

How much does it cost to get from Alicante airport to Moraira?

A regulated taxi is capped between about 131 and 153 EUR for the vehicle, including the 4.25 EUR airport supplement, with the higher figure applying at night, on Sundays and on holidays. A private transfer booked in advance may come in under that.

How far is Moraira from Valencia airport?

About 130 km, or roughly an hour and a half of driving, against 94 km and about 70 minutes from Alicante. Alicante is clearly the nearer airport, but Valencia is not out of the question if the fare difference is large.
