Twenty-five kilometres, and the airport is not the reason
Kaštela is a chain of seven villages strung along the bay between Split and Trogir, and the runway was laid across the flat ground at Resnik in the middle of them. That puts the terminal almost exactly between the two towns, five kilometres from one and twenty-five from the other. Nothing about the journey is difficult - the D8 runs east along the water the whole way - but the distance surprises people who booked a flight to Split.
A palace people still live in
Split's old town is the inside of Diocletian's retirement palace, and the streets are its corridors: stone lanes a couple of metres across, roofed in places, with flats and bars in rooms the emperor's guard used. Vehicles do not go in. A transfer stops at one of the gates, and which gate matters more than the address does, because crossing the palace on foot with cases is slow.

Four suppliers list a drop-off at the same Viator location for Split, which is the closest thing to corroboration this provider's data offers. Three sell the journey and only one of them leads this page. It is not the least expensive: it is the one with ninety-six reviews and a price whose basis can be stated.
