Inland, and closer than the beaches

Every other destination this site covers on Cyprus is a coastal resort, and all of them are further from the airport than the capital is. Nicosia is fifty-one kilometres by the A3, the A2 and the A1; Ayia Napa is fifty-five and Protaras sixty-five. A traveller who assumes the capital must be the long haul has it the wrong way round.

A divided city, and which half a transfer reaches

Nicosia is the last divided capital in Europe. The airport is in the Republic of Cyprus and a transfer from it serves the southern side of the city; a driver takes you to an address there, not across the line. This is a fact about where a car can put you rather than a comment on anything else, and it belongs on a page about getting from an airport to an address.
