One road, and both engines agree about it
There is a single sensible way from Čilipi into the city and both of our routing engines found it and returned the same figure: 20.32 kilometres, ten metres apart, with driving times three quarters of a minute apart. That is the tightest agreement on this site, and it happens because there is no alternative to the D8 worth modelling. The times are free-flow, which is the one thing they cannot tell you on a day with cruise ships in.
No car goes through the wall
The old town is enclosed and closed to vehicles, so every transfer ends at a gate. Pile at the western end is where most stop; Ploče serves the eastern side and the hotels beyond it. Which one you want depends on your street, and the difference is a walk of several hundred metres over polished limestone, some of it steps.
Why the searches say old town
Four times as many people search for the airport to the old town as search for it to Dubrovnik by name. That is not a quirk: the walled city is where the journey actually ends, and "Dubrovnik" on its own is ambiguous between the city, the county and the airport. Our entity is the city and the keyword carries the word the entity name does not.
