The furthest of the four, and further than the capital

People book Ayia Napa expecting the airport to be nearby because Cyprus is a small island. It is not: fifty-five kilometres, which is four kilometres more than the run inland to Nicosia and only twelve less than the one west to Limassol. The A3 makes it quick rather than short, and quick is not the same thing when a flight lands at midnight.

Where the two engines stop agreeing

Our routing engines put the distance at 55.03 and 55.04 kilometres, ten metres apart, and then differ by nearly eight minutes on how long it takes. That gap is not about the road, because they agree on the road to within ten metres. It is two different assumptions about motorway speed, and the honest response is a range wide enough to hold both rather than a single figure that quietly picks one.
